On April 15, 1971, Head Coach Jerry Miller and Assistant Adrian Deusler held baseball practice for the first time in Snider High School history. 95 boys reported for tryouts that day. Their first season they started late, didn't have a regulation diamond to play on and didn't have a mound to pitch off of. The Panthers inaugural season ended with a 6-4 loss to Woodlan High School in sectionals. The Panthers were 6-11 that year.
